How to look after your skin and your face

Skin: the mirror of your health

We often think that looking after the face is simply a matter of applying a moisturiser. Yet the skin is the largest organ in our body and acts as our first line of defence. At Harmony by Agas, we believe that healthy skin is the foundation of any successful aesthetic treatment. If the “canvas” is not in good condition, the final result will never be optimal.

Below we set out the definitive guide to keeping your face radiant, firm and free of imperfections, combining care at home with the power of the clinic.

The 3 essential steps of your daily routine

  1. Cleansing: the foundation of everything: It does not matter if you have not worn make-up; pollution, sweat and sebum build up in the pores.
  • Harmony tip: We recommend double cleansing at night: first an oil-based cleanser to remove sun protection and dirt, and then a water-based one to clean deep into the pore.
  1. Transforming actives (serum): This is where the magic happens. Depending on your skin type, Dr Ava Ardila recommends:
  • Vitamin C: In the morning, to protect you from free radicals and add radiance.
  • Retinol: At night, the king of anti-ageing, to renew the skin's texture.
  • Hyaluronic acid: At any time, to maintain hydration and plumpness.

Sun protection: your best anti-ageing cream

80% of the wrinkles and pigmentation we see in consultation are the result of photoageing. Without sunscreen, the rest of your routine loses effectiveness. It should be used even on cloudy days, or if you work in front of computer screens in the office.

Taking the step into aesthetic medicine: when are cosmetics not enough?

There are concerns that a cream cannot solve, such as deep skin laxity, hormonal pigmentation or pronounced expression lines. That is where our protocols in Torrelodones come in:

  • Collagen biostimulators: Treatments that drive your own skin to regenerate from within, recovering the firmness it has lost.
  • Personalised medical peels: Ideal for renewing the surface layers, reducing pigmentation and closing enlarged pores.
  • Deep medical cleansing: Once a month, or with each change of season, to reset the tissue and let the creams you use at home penetrate better.

Diagnosis is the key

Every face is a world of its own. At Harmony by Agas, we do not sell treatments; we design skin health plans. The first step in knowing how to look after your skin is understanding what it is missing: hydration? radiance? firmness?
